Gustavo Ortega is a graphic designer who graduated from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano university of Bogotá in 2008. Since 2005 he has worked in editorial illustration; his designs have been published in numerous magazines, books and newspapers in Colombia. Some of his clients include Random House, Mondadori, Revolter Records(UK), SM, JWT, Publishing House Casa Editorial El Tiempo, Educar Editores, Bacanika Magazine, Dinero Magazine and Simétrica Studio.

Gustavo is interested in creating humourous images using many elements in the composition. He uses different fonts and typography to create characters and textures with mixed media.

Gustavo has participated in exhibitions such as Salón de Illustradores del "Club el Nogal", 50 Ways to Look at Illustration (Itinerant exhibition – Colombia, Mexico), Picto Jam in the Gallery la Localidad, Vinilos y mas Vinilos - Gallery 7 Ochenta (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Malpensante Magazine ADG Competition in the Cero Gallery, SOMA Festival and Rocniture Gallery, among others.
In 2009 Gustavo went to Buenos Aires, to study at the Argentinian National University Institute of the Arts (IUNA) where he studied painting and anatomy. Currently Gustavo lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.
